Together We Can
Together We Can
by Joe Benedetti
Nobody ever became a ball player by walking after a ball.
God gave you two hands, keep them both close when catching and fielding balls.
Look for your pitch and when you see, HIT it hard.
Keep your head up. If you have given your all, then there is no reason to hang it low.
Expect bad hops and bad throws; anyone can catch the good ones.
ALWAYS run them out, full speed, flat out, because you never know. . .
Remember, ability is such a small thing when compared to heart.
Slide or dive for balls that are just out of your reach.
Playing the outfield is NOT a demotion, its an opportunity.
Umpires are out there because they love this game too.
Encourage your teammates, respect your opponents, and expect the same of them.
You can go a long way as a player if you keep working on your throwing.
Focus on improving your bunting; it can easily add 25 points to your average.
It’s great to have a favourite position; it’s even better to have two or three.
Constantly work on your swing. All hitters have slumps; good hitters just have shorter ones.
Pitchers – throw the change; throw it often; throw it back to back; keep it low.
There is no clock in our game – play hard and never, never, ever give up.
As a base runner, have confidence in your sliding ability and technique.
Coaches make mistakes, and so do parents.
PLAY HARD … PLAY FAIR … HAVE FUN
