NORTH YORK, ONTARIO - Softball Ontario is pleased to distribute information to female softball enthusiasts across Ontario about the Canadian Association for the Advancement of Women and Sport and Physical Activity (CAAWS) WISE Fund. The WISE Fund was created to help sponsor female sport initiatives and assist members of the sport community in Canada. Since 2004, CAAWS has supported 56 individuals and organizations through this Fund, dispersing over $48,000 to members of the sport community. For 2009 CAAWS will provide twelve (12) grants in the amount of $900 each to girls and women and/or organizations offering sport programs targeted to girls and women who meet the grant criteria.

This is another television commercial from a Japanese high tech firm using the Japanese National Softball team in their promotion. It is very well produced and begs the question of why Canadian advertisers don't embrace the this same approach of selling excellence particularly within the realm of team effort.

The Coaching Association of Ontario is looking for nominations from local softball associations for the Ontario Coaching Excellence Awards aim to recognize the outstanding achievements and significant contributions softball coaches have made to both their associations and softball players in Ontario. The selection of recipients is based on their unique contribution to softball through continuous development. The awards do not reflect the accomplishments of a softball coach in any one-year; rather the award is designed to recognize the contributions a coach has made over a period of years.
